Adding an Email Identity
An identity is an email address or domain that you've verified for sending. Campaign email is sent from your organization's default sender, which is what patients see in the From line. The default sender must be a verified address or an address on a verified domain. Until you set one, campaign email comes from a generic CareLaunch address, so set your own before you start sending.

We strongly recommend verifying a domain.
Verifying an identity
- Go to Outreach → Outreach Identities and click Add identity.
- Choose the Identity Type (Domain or Email Address), enter the domain or address, and click Save.
- Finish verification:
- Email address: open the verification email sent to that address and click the link.
- Domain: the identity page lists three CNAME records. Copy each Name and Value into your DNS provider. When DNS has updated, use Refresh on the identity page to check the status. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours (sometimes longer) to propagate.
- When the identity shows Verified, you can send from it.
Setting the default sender
On Outreach → Outreach Identities:
- For a verified email address, click the star next to it in the Email senders list and confirm.
- For a verified domain, click Default sender (or the domain's star) and type the full address you want to send from, such as
care@yourclinic.com. A domain on its own can't appear in the From line.
The current default is marked Default in the list and shown at the top of the page.
SMS phone numbers
The Phone numbers section of Outreach Identities shows your organization's own SMS number, if one has been registered. CareLaunch support provisions and registers SMS numbers for you. See SMS Messaging.
