Templates
The Settings → Templates page is only available to CareLaunch platform administrators, even though the Settings menu may list it for organization admins.
Templates hold the content and layout of your messages so you can reuse them across campaigns and automations. Email and SMS steps in a campaign can use a template. A template is optional, but recommended for email: without one, the email goes out in a plain layout with no branding and no unsubscribe link.

Managing templates
Go to Settings → Templates. Templates are grouped into tabs by type, with a count on each tab.
- New template: create a template from scratch.
- Import: import a template.
- Browse library: start from a ready-made template.
- Status filter: show Active or Inactive templates. Only active templates can be picked in a campaign step.
- Delete: in list view, select one or more templates and delete them. A template that's still used by a notification can't be deleted. Templates used by active Campaigns v2 campaigns are not protected from deletion.
Click a template to edit it.
Using a template in a campaign
In a Send Email or Send SMS step, choose the template from Message Template. The step's Message Content fills the template's content area, so one branded email template can carry different messages in different campaigns. If the template has no content area, the template's own text is sent unchanged. The Message Preview shows the combined result.
Personalization
Use {{FirstName}} in a template or in a step's message content to insert the patient's first name. This works when the step's Recipient is Patient or Default Recipient.
Unsubscribe links in email
Email templates must include an unsubscribe link; a template without one can't be saved. Templates built from the default email layout already have one in the footer, and CareLaunch fills in the link automatically. See Opt-Outs.
